  • Description: This is a great toilet block with double entry doors, so you get plenty of warning when someone is coming in.
The men's is at the end of a reasonably long corridor that runs into the building from the upper-level outdoor courtyard of the shopping complex which also houses a large supermarket, a couple of smaller shops, a pharmacy, a hairdresser, etc. The courtyard opens onto Franklin Street, and there is some parking nearby on Franklin St or in the multi-story car park under the supermarket, from which there is an escalator to the courtyard. There is now a camera on the ceiling in the corridor, clearly visible and installed in a way that would allow it to monitor people going in and out of the toilets, so going in and out, in an unusual fashion is probably not advised. Also, the outer door is now usually wedged open by a door wedge, seemingly for cleaning or other purposes. It is imaginable that the center management is aware of and trying to discourage inappropriate activity. Also, the understall walls are high, and the area small, so if two people are in one cubicle, or reaching between them such activity is likely evident to anybody in the next cubical or maybe anyone else in the toilet. It's pretty hit-and-miss. Genuine straight users genuinely needing to use the toilet (wives waiting outside or nearby) also frequent, as it's a relatively clean place to go if one does need to use the toilet. Depends on one's bravery level, but discretion is probably advised!
