Description: The main path which runs from Riverside to the Rideau River is an old service road for the NCC.
The cruisy area is the bush to either side of the main trail/old road. In summer, the trails to the east of this trail are tall grass with good tanning spots.
In fall/spring, the west pathways are a good spot. Lots of rocks and trails to hang out in, and better cover.
UPDATE for clearer pedestrian and bike options (the only option): Forget the driving directions—this one’s for the adventurous types on foot or bike. Start your journey at Lees Station, and once you cross the Rideau River Bridge, hang a right. From there, follow the path left (heading west), but don’t go as far as Vincent Massey Park—your destination is more discreet.
Keep your eyes open after the bridge. On your left, you’ll spot a pair of benches—consider that your first marker. Just past them, a trail veers left. Take it. Soon, you’ll come upon a fork (or a few)—two trails to the left, one to the right. That little cluster is where the magic happens.
