Description: This portion of Brighton's city beach has been designated clothing optional since 1980 and is by far the most popular and public of Britain's nude beaches. In summer the beach will draw as many as a hundred bathers on weekdays, weekends are much busier. There are many amenities nearby, but you must dress to visit them. The vast majority of bathers are gay men.
Just behind this is Dukes Mound another popular cruising ground that has been re-landscaped (2023) check out that listing too.
Much of the cover and bushes used behind the beach have been removed the beach is still a nudist beach but more people are coming up this end now with the new boardwalk and sea lanes being officially opened
