Description: A major area of open space adjoining the John Rabson Recreation Ground off Northumberland Avenue. The Cowsey is an extensive (about 20 hectares), part wild area of woodland and natural grassland, crossed with informal grassy paths. It is surrounded by roads and houses except where it adjoins John Rabson Ground. Some areas can be damp owing to the many seasonal springs. From the top of the hill are extensive views west over the Kennet Valley
