Description: The series of three coves east of Downderry village are generally clothed, straight nudist, and gay nudist, respectively. Be aware of tide times as you may not be able to walk back to Downderry along the beach. There is a route up the embankment, but you must be reasonably fit. The path up to the south coast footpath is well worn and zigzag,s so at no stage are you rock climbing, just a small scramble at the bottom. It takes around 10 minutes from bottom to top.
The gay nudist bay is the one with the large rock shaped like a shark fin just offshore to the east / left when looking out to sea. There is very little shade.
