Description: This is a big park.
Best to visit the first time, during the day to get your bearings.
Stadium Road / Gt North Road near Motat entry opposite Caltex (motorway entry/exit points) at St Luke's off-ramp. Drive in and head towards Speedway on Stadium Road. Park up in the carpark and you will see an entry to the park.
Option 1:
As you enter, you will see a path running down to the lake. As you reach the lake on your left, there are twin bridges, action happens on the bridges and in bush/shrubbery on the left just prior to the bridges.
Option 2:
As you enter the park, don't follow the path. Turn Right and head down the grass area on your right following the river. The action happens down under the large trees in the dark areas. Also in and around the toilet block and amphitheater area behind it and down around the bamboo.
Option 3:
This area is the safest during SPEEDWAY NIGHTS due to the increased number of people using the park as a shortcut/cut-through to access parking areas and/or speedway entrance.
As above, but keep heading past the toilet block. Keep following the river till you come to the lake again, and there is another path that leads away from the lake to the back of the zoo, you will find another bridge, this is known as the troll bridge, action happens down here, too.
Option 4:
Drive towards Auckland Zoo on Motions Road. Right before the entrance to the zoo, there will be a section of the park that is quite cut off from the rest of the western springs, with a lot of open ground to hunt before taking them to your choice of bushes around the edge of the area. You could also climb up some of the rocks to have a nice view while having fun.
