Description: Wekiwa Springs is a Florida State Park located on the north side of Orlando, about 16 miles from downtown. Reservations are required (online) as the park reaches capacity on summer weekends, but the cost is only $6 per car (max 4 people). A sixty site RV/tent campground is in the park with bathrooms and showers too. The Springs is the main gathering area, with a three-acre sand bottom swimming lagoon and parking for 200+ cars. There is cruising with the crowds at the Springs and a large bathroom with four showers there. Concessions/food and canoe/kayak rentals there with large bathrooms at both ends of the parking area. Two miles to the west inside the park is Sand Lake with bathrooms and parking for 40+ cars. Sand Lake is a small lake (no swimming) with picnic tables around it. This spot has access to the 28 miles of wooded trails, making it a great location to meet; lots of hidden spots just off the trails. QR code for trail maps is on the signboards. There are also five private hike-in campsites (reservations required) which would be wonderful for an overnight. Please carry out any trash you may have.
