“Pioneer Village is a hidden treasure with a collection of permanent authentic structures which once existed in different areas of Osceola County. You can wander through time and experience history from an 1898 “Cracker house” to a 1900 general store. These structures were carefully relocated to their present location and preserved to show how life was lived before our modern time. This 160-acre parcel is comprised of pine Flatwoods, wet and dry prairies, oak hammocks, and hardwood wetlands and is home to several important species, such as the American bald eagle, sandhill crane, swallow-tailed kite, and Eastern bluebirds. Long before Pioneer Village was brought into the property this land was established in 1914 by Franklin Babb and family from Tennessee, the property served as a successful citrus grove and harvest operation and is visible at the site today. Hike the trails, appreciate the wildlife, and enjoy the history!”
