Neighbourhood: Located at Dunmore, about 5 km north of Kilkenny City, in a quiet semi-rural area off Bleach Road. The park is surrounded by countryside, woodland and open land, with the Dunmore recycling/civic amenity site nearby. It was formerly a municipal landfill and has been redeveloped into a large biodiversity and recreation park with walking trails and open green areas.

Former municipal landfill transformed into a biodiversity-rich public park with several walking trails, viewing and seating areas, exercise facilities, and plenty of open space. The main car park is near the Bleach Road entrance. Often fairly quiet, although visitor levels vary.
